1K a year 4 days ago 4 days ago 4 days ago Summary Provide purchasing/materials management support to all phases of the business and manufacturing process, to ensure on time delivery of the highest quality of boats to meet our customers' expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise, coach, mentor and develop subordinate staff of Buyers, Supervisors, Damaged Defective and Stockroom personnel.
Devise policy and procedures in the area of procurement and inventory control Research, select and negotiate with appropriate vendors.
Maintain positive vendor relations.
Conduct quality assurance analysis on materials received at the plant to ensure vendor specifications are maintained as needed.
Maintain item master scheduling cycle counts for heightened inventory control.
Manage quality control process, monitor shortages, etc.
Coordinate with Manufacturing Management to enhance Lean Manufacturing process through development of Point of Use inventories, elimination of barriers, etc.
Plan and forecast bulk materials requirements.
Monitor, review and negotiate annually rates and classes of freight vendors.
Monitor freight bills for accuracy.
Conduct end of the year inventory Monitor shipping response times and systems in Ship's Store.
Interacts with all levels of responsibility, both inside and outside the organization.
May provide support to, and actively participate in, IBBI activities.
Work with and support Continuous Improvement efforts.

Education and/or
Experience:
Minimum 2-year degree from accredited college/university plus 5 years related experience in manufacturing environment or Bachelor's degree in supply management, business or finance.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Must be able to work in non-climate controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperatures Moving mechanical parts- Pneumatic tools, pallet jacks, fork lift, overhead cranes PPE-Safety Glasses are required when working on plant floor, Chemical Gloves when working with toxic or caustic chemicals, Cut Resistant Gloves when working with sharp objects or cutting tools, Hard Hat when required and using ladders while stocking shelves.
Typical 40-45
hour work week Monday-Thursday, frequent Fridays required.
