TCPalm/Treasure Coast Newspapers, part of USA TODAY NETWORK, seeks a smart, inquisitive, analytical reporter eager to dig beyond the headlines to explain so what, who cares, what does it mean? This enterprise reporter is not bound by any one beat or topic, but focuses on the biggest breaking news and trending topics of the day to produce stepped-back follow-ups that range from dailies to quick-hit analyses, enterprise and mini-investigations. It's exclusive watchdog reporting in real time. Solutions and service journalism is a must with this position.
This reporter must be a self-starter, quick learner, thorough researcher and team collaborator who can work fast, juggle multiple stories and work on long-range stories without getting bogged down.
Data reporting and data visualization are essential, so experience is a plus and a willingness to learn and be self-taught is a must. The ideal candidate has at least 1-3 years of professional experience in a daily newsroom, a strong body of work and a track record of breaking news and effecting change.
This reporter is based in Fort Pierce, Florida, and serves a local audience across the Treasure Coast, as well as state and national readers through the USA TODAY NETWORK.
